MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling uses fine needles to create small, controlled punctures in the skin. This stimulates a repair response and collagen production. It may be considered for the appearance of acne scars, fine lines and uneven texture after your skin has been assessed.
IS IT RIGHT FOR MY SKIN?
Your concern, skin condition and medical history determine suitability. Active infection, inflamed acne, a tendency to raised scars and some medicines can affect the decision. Melanin-rich skin also needs thoughtful assessment and aftercare; no treatment is free of pigmentation risk.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Bring details of your skincare, medicines, previous procedures and any history of cold sores or unusual healing. Explain the changes you would like to see and any important dates. You can ask about alternatives, realistic improvement, recovery and the proposed device before making a decision.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?
After assessment and consent, the skin is prepared and the device is passed over the agreed area. The approach and depth are tailored to the skin and treatment aim. Comfort measures and what you may feel will be discussed. This page describes microneedling generally; it does not imply radiofrequency treatment is included.
RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE
Your skin may feel warm, tight or tender and appear red or temporarily darker. Recovery varies with the treatment intensity and your skin. Follow the instructions on gentle skincare, sun protection and when to restart makeup or active products. Infection, scarring and lasting pigment changes are possible risks.
WHEN WILL I SEE A CHANGE?
Improvement is gradual as the skin remodels, and a course may be discussed. No exact level of improvement can be promised. Review progress before deciding on further sessions, and ask how the plan fits with your skincare and other treatments.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Will it remove scars completely? It may improve their appearance but does not guarantee removal.
Is more depth always better? No; the treatment needs to match the skin and concern.
Can I use a home roller between visits? Discuss this first rather than adding procedures that may irritate or injure healing skin.
