SKIN BOOSTERS
Skin boosters is an umbrella term for injectable treatments intended to address aspects of skin quality. Products differ in their ingredients, intended uses and evidence. Your plan starts with the concern you want to address, rather than choosing a brand before your skin has been assessed.
WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?
Hydration, texture and the appearance of fine lines may be discussed during your consultation. The potential benefit depends on the specific product. A skin booster is not automatically a substitute for filler, skincare or another treatment, and it will not suit every concern.
CHOOSING AN APPROACH
Your skin, medical history, allergies, current medicines and previous treatments will be reviewed. We will discuss why a particular option may be suitable, what evidence supports it and its limitations. Tell Selina if you have a history of reactions or if you are planning another procedure.
WHAT TO EXPECT
If treatment is suitable and you decide to proceed, the selected product, treatment area and injection approach will be explained before consent. Skin is prepared and the product is administered using the planned technique. Comfort, recovery time and follow-up are part of that discussion.
RECOVERY AND RISKS
Small injection marks, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur. Infection, inflammatory reactions and other complications depend on the product and technique and need to be discussed individually. You will receive aftercare for the actual treatment used and instructions on whom to contact if anything concerns you.
RESULTS AND MAINTENANCE
Results are not guaranteed and should be assessed after the expected settling period. A proposed course and any maintenance should be explained for the chosen product, with the total commitment and cost clear before you agree. There is no single schedule that applies to every skin booster.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Which brand should I choose? We can discuss this after assessing your skin and goals.
How is this different from filler? Intended uses and formulations differ; ask what the proposed product is expected to achieve in your case.
Can I combine treatments? Any combination needs an individual plan and appropriate timing.
